3-5pm Crab Derby -  Awards at 6 pm

Birch Bay Crab Derby

Saturday September 2nd from 3-5pm 

Categories to Win & Crab Derby Rules:

-Crab must be alive and healthy and of legal size as per law.
-You may only enter 1 legal limit of 5 crab per person.
-You must have a valid crab license and a completed

catch card for the amount of crab you enter.
-You must allow judging staff to mark your crab to

qualify for this event.
-Dungeness Crab only to qualify.
-Judging Staff reserve the right to disqualify any catch

at their discretion.
-Contestants can only win one category.
-No commercially harvested crab can be entered.

Location: the 
Birch Bay Beach Park (7930 Birch Bay Drive)

Time: 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Awards at 6pm 

Categories to Win:

Biggest Catch

To be determined by weight. This will be determined by

having the heaviest catch limit – 5 crab or less.   

It is not required to be marked crab.

One crab by weight only.

All Crab must come to the Judges station to be qualified.

It is not required to be a marked crab.

Derby Crab
These crab are marked and released in to Birch Bay before the event. They will be clearly marked.

Prizes will be listed on the Discover Days web page by Friday September 1st at 5 pm

Award presentation will be at 6pm at the stage of the Discovery Days Event.

  A great weekend for the entire family. Fun activities abound with a grand parade down Birch Bay Drive, Arts and Crafts Fair (Saturday & Sunday)  a variety of Food Vendors, Live Music, Beer Garden, Crab Derby, Extreme Wood Sculpture Event and Kids Olympics!
