Birch Bay State Park is a 194-acre camping park with 8,255 feet of saltwater shoreline on Birch Bay and 14,923 feet of freshwater shoreline on Terrell Creek. The park is rich in archeological significance and offers panoramic views of the Cascade Mountains and Canadian Gulf Islands.

This park sits between Blaine Harbor and Semiahmoo Bay. It has a 265 slip marina which provides guest moorage by calling Blaine Harbor Center at (360) 647-6176. There are also trails, picnic facilities, a whale sculpture, public pier for crabbing and is home the the Plover Foot Passenger Ferry (Gate 2). The park offers views of snow-capped Mount Baker and White Rock, British Columbia.

A county park with 1.5 mile long sand spit with over 300 acres of tidelands that offer today's visitors an abundance of recreational opportunities. Native Americans occupied a village on the spit for hundreds of generations, making a living from land and sea. Beach combing, bird watching, and picnicking may be enjoyed year-round. To gain a better appreciation of this treasure, visit with a Beach Naturalist on summertime weekends or attend an Interpretive Program by Whatcom County Parks and Recreation. The park also has the Drayton Harbor Maritime Museum, showcasing numerous artifacts from the Packer's cannery days telling the story of fishing and canning in days gone by. The museum open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Peace Arch State Park is a 20-acre day-use park commemorating treaties and agreements that arose from the war of 1812. The park celebrates the unguarded United States/Canadian border that stretches from the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia. The park features horticultural exhibitions and the giant, commemorative, concrete arch that straddles the border of the two nations. The countries co-maintain the monument. Enjoy their annual Art In The Park sculpture exhibit starting every May. Sits directly on the border between British Columbia, Canada and the City of Blaine, WA, USA. |

Mount Baker Highway
One of the most visited forests in the country, located on the western slopes of the Cascade mountain range between Seattle, Washington and Vancouver, British Columbia.
Here you will find glacier-covered peaks, spectacular mountain meadows and old-growth forests. Mt Baker Highway stretches 58 miles from Bellingham to Artist Point (elev. 5,140 ft.), a viewpoint surrounded by Mt. Baker's peak, Mt. Shuksan, and Table Mountain.
Take I-5 Exit 255 and follow State route 542.

Chuckanut Drive
For a beautiful and slow paced alternative to Interstate 5 that connects Bellingham to Skagit Valley. Going North, the exit is just north of Burlington and marked on I-5 exit sign #231. Going south on I-5, take Exit 250 and follow Fairhaven Parkway to State Route 11. Chuckanut Drive takes you through gorgeous farmlands, in and out of the towns of Allen & Bow, with some of the area's best Restaurants, Bed & Breakfasts and Antique & Art Galleries with breath-taking views of Chuckanut Bay and some of the state's prime shellfish beds. There are also many spots for picnics or just getting out and stretching your legs. Try one of the many hikes, either to lakes on Chuckanut & Blanchard Mountains or to the beaches at Larrabee Park or Teddy Bear Cove. The Drive continues all the way to the 1880's brick town of Old Fairhaven, just south of downtown Bellingham.
